Joss Stone has revealed she predicted her baby's gender through her songwriting - long before the little one was born.
The Masked Singer winner welcomed her first child, daughter Violet, into the world last year with her boyfriend Cody DaLuz and during an appearance on ITV's Lorraine today to promote her new album, Joss confessed she had worked out her baby's gender before she was secretly born with a special songwriting hint.
Joss recalled she was "about four months pregnant" at the time and kept getting hints she was having a girl.
"I suppose pregnancy concentrates the mind. And for you, with all this - you know being a mum - did that affect what you've been writing because children change you completely?" Lorraine said.
To which Joss replied: "I was about four months pregnant then and I didn't know that she was a girl, but there's one song on the record called You're My Girl. When I was writing, a few times it happened, just the word girl came out like I was writing to a girlfriend.
"And I was like, ok - I thought it was a boy, but I'm changing my mind now."
When Joss and Cody announced their baby's arrival, she confessed she had always wanted a daughter.
"Here's one we made earlier... she's so sweet!" Joss said, "This is Violet Melissa, isn't she sweet? She's just fed and she's eating her hands because that's her little vibe, isn't it? She was breech so I had to have a C-section which was delightful ... I'm tired.
"Cody has been amazing, totally worth it. They had to take her out the sunroof which was quick. Doctor Lee, we love you! We didn't know she was a girl until that moment. I wanted a girl, but I didn't want to tell anyone that - nothing against boys."
Cody added: "I called it from the first ultrasound, we had a feeling. She is three days old. She's the prettiest thing in the world. She's my perfect girl. I have the two most beautiful girls in the entire world."
Joss admitted at the time she felt scared to give birth.
"I woke up in the middle of the night – randomly – and I was like: 'Oh my god I am really scared!" Joss shared at the time as she opened up about her fears, "I just got really terrified of having to push it out."
