Josip Juranovic in 'final stages' of Celtic transfer exit as Union Berlin emerge to win race

Celtic defender Josip Juranovic is reportedly on the verge of signing for Union Berlin.

The Parkhead side are believed to have opened themselves to offers for the Croatian after his stunning World Cup with contract talks between the player and the club reaching an impasse. Clubs all over Europe have been keen with Monza and Torino in the running at one stage while reports on Friday claimed Southampton had made him one of their top targets.

But now transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reports that Union Berlin have made their move and are in the "final stages" of talks to land him. It's claimed negotiations between the two clubs are "very advanced" with Juranovic expected to be announced as a Union player soon. Reports earlier in the window claimed Celtic were looking for a fee north of £15m but it's unclear what the German side have offered for the 27-year-old to move things on so quickly.
