Josip Juranovic five word Giorgos Giakoumakis verdict as ex-Celtic man continues Atlanta goal streak

Josip Juranovic has heaped praise on pal Giorgos Giakoumakis with a five word social media response.

The former Celtic striker netted his fifth goal in five starts for new club Atlanta United as they picked up a dramatic win over Chicago Fire. The Greece international is quickly establishing himself as a key player and real fans' favourite at his new side and he was on hand to fire home from close-range after just 13 minutes.

Giakoumakis and Co looked on course to pick up all three points but suffered a last-gasp setback with Kacper Przybylko levelling for the visitors in the 90th minute. However, the drama wasn't over with the Atlanta finding a way to win in the 98th minute to spark wild scenes as they kept on the tails of New England and Cincinatti at the top of the Eastern Conference. They trail the duo by just two points after nine games.

Taking to Instagram to upload a series of images from the game, Giakoumakis posted: "Our return home was accompanied by a coveted victory! Thank you 17s."

Juranovic, like Giakoumakis, departed Ange Postecoglou's side during the winter transfer window to join Union Berlin as he bids to help his new side qualify for the Champions League.

The pair struck up a close bond at Celtic and he commented on the post of his good pal writing: "Again and again. Like always."

Goalkeeping duo Benjamin Siegrist and Joe Hart also showed their appreciation by handing the hitman a like.

On the result, head coach Gonzalo Pineda said: "I felt we didn't have our best game. Probably we had one of the worst I've seen, especially on the ball.

"We never had rhythm on the ball. We never could really connect good sequences of passes. Possession, there were moments in the first half but certainly we lost the control for a big majority of the game. So I was frustrated with that."
