Josip Juranovic completes Celtic exit for Union Berlin

Josip Juranovic has signed for German club Union Berlin, it has been officially confirmed.

The Croatia international had been the subject of much transfer speculation after his performances at the World Cup in Qatar.

And now he has moved on from Parkhead to join the Bundesliga side.

"The move to Union fulfills my dream of being able to play in one of the best football teams in the world. The Bundesliga is intense and robust, which is good for my game.

"I'm looking forward to playing in front of the fans at the Alte Försterei soon. I want to improve even more in Berlin and take the next step in my career,” Juranović commented on the move to Berlin-Köpenick.

Union managing director professional football Oliver Ruhnert is happy about the reinforcement on the flank: "Josip will suit us well with his pace, his experience and his skills. We are convinced that he will sign a player who can help us quickly and we look forward to him.”

The 27-year-old played 62 times for the Scottish champions over an 18-month period which saw him score seven times for the Hoops and win both the League Cup and Scottish Premiership.

Speaking before his side's 5-0 victory against Morton in the Scottish Cup, Bhoys boss Ange Postecoglou revealed Juranovic had been "given permission" to travel and was set to undergo a medical.

He told BBC Scotland: "With Jura [Juranovic] he has been given permission travel and I think he will be doing a medical. It has not been finalised but obviously if all things work out then he will be moving on which is great for him.

"I am really pleased for him and for us he will always be remembered fondly as a player who contributed to a special year."
