Josip Juranovic will likely leave Celtic due to his World Cup showings but not for a hefty transfer fee.
That is the view of former Scotland striker James McFadden who believes the Croatian defender's performances for the Hoops and for his country in Qatar equal big interest in his signature. The likes of La Liga giants Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have been linked with a move for the 27-year-old while some English Premier League clubs are said to be keen on the Parkhead star.
Juranovic's recent Celtic contract talks reportedly stalled with the Hoops now willing to listen to offers, yet the fullback does have a lengthy deal in Glasgow that could mean a big fee required to command a move away. Sky Sports pundit McFadden, however, believes Celtic won't land a coveted jackpot for Juranovic but will make a sweet profit on the coup £2.5m paid to Legia Warsaw last summer.
He told Open Goal: “It looks like he’s going to be away. His performances at the World Cup, the teams that are mentioned, you would expect it that he’ll be away. I don’t think it will be massive money, but it’ll be a nice profit on £2.5m.
"For a Scottish team to get £15-£20m it’s incredible, but for these big teams it’s not a massive outlay for the. I don’t think it will be massive, massive money but it will still be good for a guy you signed for £2.5m a year and a half ago.”
