Josip Juranovic Celtic transfer theory floated as Rangers hero turns super agent in 'definite contact' claim

Convinced Kenny Miller reckons clubs will have already made contact with Celtic and Josip Juranovic 's agent ahead of a potential January switch.

Last summer the Croatia international was linked with a host of top European clubs Atletico Madrid, Manchester United and Chelsea but a move failed to materialise, however reports suggest that talks between Celtic and Juranovic over a new contract have stalled. The 27-year-old is currently focussing on the World Cup having jetted off to Qatar while his teammates are in action during the Sydney Super Cup.

Parkhead chiefs will now weigh up if they should sell Ange Postecoglou's first-choice right-back in the winter window if the right offer comes, but and pundit Miller reckons there has been some behind the scenes talks already. He also notes the Scottish champions may not want to stump up the cash for a new deal if Juranovic is already among the top earners at Celtic Park.

Miller said on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard: "You don't wake up one morning and turn on Sky Sports News and see that you have moved. There is definitely contact leading into transfer windows, so he will have a fair idea of where he stands in the thoughts of other teams.

"He has had a brilliant season so far. The way he play in Celtic 's team will be quite appealing to clubs not just in England but across Europe as well.

"He is one of these players that when Ange talked about needing to embrace the fact players could be leaving and they need to embrace our model; he will be in that bracket.

"What it comes down to is what level (of wages) is he coming in on, because sometimes players won't come in on bigger wages if they are a bit less known. Then, it's if your performances have deserved a new contract and that is a question for Ange.

"He seems like a very, very important player within the starting line-up and how they play. He might have signed a long contract on big money and they could say 'absolutely not' (to a new deal), but if he has come in on a low level then I think he has proved his worth."
