Josip Juranovic and the unseen Celtic nod during Union Berlin celebration as Daizen Maeda decodes subtle reminder

Union Berlin defender Josip Juranovic netted his first goal since joining the German side against Ajax - but doesn't appear to have forgotten about Celtic just yet.

The Croat has immediately become a vital player for the Bundesliga title hopefuls after leaving the Scottish Premiership leaders in January, and has helped the side to join top of the pile alongside giants Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund. Union also secured progression in the Europa League with a big helping hand from the 27-year-old as he netted the second goal in the 3-1 victory over the Dutch giants, firing a low shot goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli.

He was mobbed by his teammates after finding the net, but tipped his cap to former Celtic teammate Daizen Maeda during the celebrations. While the TV cameras didn't pick up on the subtle nod, Union's club snappers caught the moment Juranovic recreated his Parkhead celebration in Berlin.

As he turned to the crowd, Juranovic held two hands up to his face and placed them on either cheek. This is a celebration he would perform after finding the net with the Hoops, or when pal Maeda found the net.

Following the game, the full-back shared the snap to his Instagram page tagging the Japanese international in the post. He also asked: "Where are you?"

Maeda was quick to respond, sharing the snap to his own Instagram with the caption: "I miss you. Ange Postecoglou and the Celtic fans will hope to see Maeda returning the favour and echoing the celebration at Hampden on Sunday when facing Rangers in the Viaplay Cup final
