Josie Gibson was pleasantly surprised when she got a glimpse at Dermot O'Leary's 'bod' as he returned to This Morning. The presenter, who usually hosts the show on a Friday, made an early return to the helm on Thursday (January 5) alongside Josie Gibson.
Former X Factor host Dermot replaced Andi Peters who has been acting as Josie's co-host since the ITV daytime show's return to screens earlier this week after a Christmas break. Prior to the show airing, Josie announced that today (Thursday) was her 'last day' and that things would be returning to normal with Alison and Dermot back together to round off the week.
Taking to Instagram with a glam snap of herself in the corridors behind-the-scenes at This Morning, she typed: "Last day on the sofa tomorrow [Thursday], thank you for being a dream boat the last two days @andipeters." She then revealed: "I am with angel face @dermotoleary tomorrow and then I hand over the reins to the one and only @alisonhammond55 with @dermotoleary."
The mum-of-one, 37, then rounded off her post: "Thank you so much for tuning in and thank you for having me over Christmas and New year. I've had a scream!"
But kicking off her last stint - for now as the main host at least - Josie was keen to welcome Dermot, 49, back after his festive break. Asked what he got up to while he was off air, the dad-of-one said: "I had a lovely time. So my wife's Norwegian, Dee, so we went to Norway to see family and friends, and I went on a big old ice swim."
As pictures appeared of Dermot on-screen from his trip, including him topless but in swimming shorts as he headed for his dip, Josie responded: "Wow, look at the bod on that." She then added: "I didn't realise you looked like that [sic]."
But rejecting Josie's compliments, Dermot said: "I mean, I have to say the angle is very favourable." The 49-year-old had already posted the snaps from Oslo, which also showed him warming up by the side of a burning fire, with his Instagram followers.
"Stay frosty kids," he typed in the caption. " Here’s to a marvellous ‘23 to you and yours." And his fans and celebrity pals were impressed.
This Morning co-host Alison said: "Yassss," alongside a love heart eyes emoji. Radio 1 star Clara Amfo asked: "Wim who?!" referring to the Iceman himself, Wim Hof. Reporter Sally Boazman, who presents the travel news across BBC Radio 2 where Dermot also works, replied: "Dear boy! Happy New Year to you and yours - if you survived!! Sooo impressed!"
