Josie Gibson was quickly defended by fans as she made her first appearance on This Morning of the week. The TV star is at the helm of the ITV daytime show until Thursday this week as she steps in to replace Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.
The show's usual hosting duo headed off on their usual half-term break last week with Josie and Dermot O'Leary stepping in. Kicking off the programme on Monday (February 13), Josie confirmed that she'd be fronting the show with the former X Factor host until Thursday with Alison Hammond looking likely to return for her usual Friday stint.
Getting the show officially underway, Josie and Dermot were joined by regular guests Gyles Brandreth and newspaper columnist Sonia Sodha as they discussed the latest news headlines and other popular topics making the papers today.
Following a break, Josie and Dermot returned to screens when Josie outed her co-star's comment to viewers. The 38-year-old, who brought the sunshine to the This Morning studio in a bright, eye-catching yellow dress, said: "I've got to tell you, before we went to a break Gyles turned round and went 'you look like a post-it note'".
Dermot, 49, then added: "If anyone wants to write anything on Josie, now is the time", before Josie asked him: "I don't look like a post-it note, do I?" Dermot replied: "No, you don't", and Josie thanked him, before he gestured to the camera that she does "a little bit".
But those tuning in to This Morning were quick to jump to Josie's defence. @LadyAnnabella17 tweeted: "Ignore Gyles @Josiestweet, you look fab (and much better without all the filters!) #ThisMorning." @JessiTRex echoed: "I was literally just thinking how good Josie looks and Gyles says that. She's beautiful #ThisMorning."
Others, however, were struggling to watch the show due to Josie's fluorescent attire. @Itt39354118 said: "Josie dress is a bit bright #thismorning," alongside a GIF of an American footballer player wiping their eyes. @SaraByorkscat posted: "#ThisMorning I like Josie but I need sunglasses on today." @Snook7Snook added: "Can't watch this today, josies dress is so bright it's strobing."
