Josie Gibson struggles with Elvis question on Michael McIntyre's The Wheel

Josie Gibson sung some of Elvis Presley's songs to help her answer a question on Michael McIntyre's The Wheel tonight (October 22). The Bristolian TV presenter was one of seven celebrities who appeared in the first episode of the third series of the hit gameshow.

For those who have not seen The Wheel before, each episode of the BBC celebrity gameshow follows three contestants hoping to answer questions correctly in a bid to win a staggering fortune. They have the help of seven celebrities, but the luck of the participants relies on the spin of The Wheel.

On the first instalment of the gameshow, which is airing for a third year after initially coming to our screens in 2020, Josie chose the Westcountry as her expert subject. She was joined on The Wheel by parathlete Kadeena Cox, Love Island narrator Iain Stirling, comedian Nigel Ng, Strictly's Anton Du Beke, veteran DJ Tony Blackburn, and broadcaster Emma Barnett.

However, after the wheel landed on Josie after contestant Matt chose 'Rock and Roll' as the subject, the former Big Brother winner got stumped by the question: "What was Elvis Presley's first number one single?" The four possibilities were All Shook Up; Heartbreak Hotel; Hound Dog; and Jailhouse Rock.

Josie immediately asked Matt 'what does Heartbreak Hotel' go like?' before trying to sing it. However, she soon realised she was singing the theme tune to classic TV drama, Heartbeat.

She then sings All Shook Up and Hound Dog, but rules those songs out "because he [Elvis] gets more confidence by then." "I think it's Jailhouse Rock," she said.

Trying to compose himself, host Michael McIntyre said that the debate between Josie and Matt "was without doubt one of my most favourite conversations". The correct answer was All Shook Up, meaning that Matt lost his place on The Wheel.

However, Josie did prove her worth the question on 'Women', correctly stating that Coco Chanel was the fashion designer that is widely tipped to have said: "A girl should be two things - classy and fabulous."

Like the rest of the contestants, she also correctly answered the question on the Westcountry, which was to name the county that Land's End was in.

Josie finished fifth on the expert's leadership, with Tony Blackburn top and Nigel Ng bottom. Becky, from the West Midlands, was the contestant that completed the wheel and ended up winning a staggering £90,000. Along with the help of Nigel, she correctly said that John F Kennedy was the President that Marilyn Monroe serenaded with her song, 'Happy Birthday Mr. President'."
