Josie Gibson appeared on crutches on This Morning, revealing that she had been injured while on holiday in Dubai.
The presenter, 40, was on vacation with her six-year-old son Reggie when a cabinet in the bathroom fell on her foot.
Speaking on the programme, she revealed: “I was brushing my teeth when the vanity unit came down on my foot. You couldn’t make it up!”
Gibson said the debacle ruined the rest of her time away, and left her in “excruciating” pain.
She said: “I spent the whole holiday in bed with my leg in the air, I was in a wheelchair I couldn’t even build a sandcastle with my son.”
Gibson also made an entrance to the programme, travelling in on a gold mobility scooter.
Earlier this week, the presenter told her Instagram followers that she had to go to hospital - though she didn’t say why she was there.
But Gibson said in Dubai she was told she had a fractured foot in Dubai, but that when she returned to the UK a doctor told the injury had caused soft tissue damage.
Since winning Big Brother in 2010, the Gibson has become a beloved figure on This Morning, where she has interviewed some of the biggest names in showbiz.
Speaking to London Standard at the end of last year, Gibson lifted the lid on what it’s like to interview A-listers.
And she said that she’s in awe of co-star, and fellow former Big Brother contestant, Alison Hammond for how laidback she is about interviewing big names.
She said: “I get starstruck a lot. Basically, I’m not really cut out for the job because I do get starstruck but I guess that’s why they keep booking me because they know what I’m like!
“I don’t know how Alison [Hammond] does it! She’s just cool as a cucumber Al. I remember I phoned her once and was like ‘Al, what do you think of this coat?’
“She was like ‘Well I’ve got to go Jose, I’m just sitting down with Angelina Jolie’ I went ‘And you’re talking to me? Okay!’ She is like cool as a cucumber when she interviews people I get really nervous and starstruck.”
