Josie Gibson 'completely honoured' at becoming ITV This Morning host while Holly and Phil take break

Josie Gibson will take over as main presenter of This Morning as Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby take a break next week. It comes after fans' calls to make her a permanent host.

Josie got her first taste of life as a lead presenter on the ITV daytime show at the last minute when she was called in to replace an ill Holly in 2021, having hosted competitions outside of the studio prior to her unexpected promotion. After impressing both This Morning viewers at home and programme bosses, she has since taken the reins on numerous occasions - alongside the likes of Craig Doyle, Dermot O'Leary and Andi Peters.

And it is former X Factor host Dermot she will be teaming up with once again over February half-term as Holly and Phil take a break, reports Chronicle Live. News of Josie stepping up to front the show again was announced on Tuesday and, discussing how much it means to her to host This Morning, the ex-Big Brother winner said: "I'm completely honoured. Whenever I'm sitting there hosting the show, I often look around and think 'how the hell did this happen to me?!'

"I've had so many different hosting partners and I just love Dermot. Derm and Andi are who I grew up watching and my mum reminded me recently that I used to demand a taxi home after school so I would make it in time for Andi on the telly. So it's just mad that I'm now sitting beside them myself on the telly. I still can't quite believe it."

Josie's promotion is bound to go down well with This Morning viewers who want her to be on the show more often. Just last week, one fan tweeted: "Oh I do miss Josie presenting."
