A long-standing East Midlands law firm has completed the acquisition of another business. Leicester-based Josiah Hincks has bought Kelly & Co Solicitors, which is based in the village of Enderby, just outside the city.
The move – which sees Kelly & Co founder Tess Kelly and her team join the bigger business – expands Josiah Hincks’s offering throughout Leicestershire, particularly its matrimonial team and offering. The firm now has six offices around the county advising individuals, families and businesses.
A spokesman for Josiah Hincks said the move was part of a policy of proving that clients don’t need to go to London or a big city firm to receive good quality legal advice and support.
He said: “Having worked with Kelly & Co before on previous legal matters, we knew that their approach to client care aligned with that of Josiah Hincks, and their Enderby office would allow us to serve a new area of the county not covered by our other offices.
“Having also worked with Tess Kelly before, we were confident that her attitude and ability would be a good fit for Josiah Hincks.”
Ms Kelly started her legal career at Josiah Hincks before starting her own practice in 2007. She described the acquisition and re-joining the Josiah Hincks team as “coming home”.
Josiah Hincks senior partner Andrew Eagle said: “This is a great fit for us as Josiah Hincks has built its business on excellent service and expert advice which aligns with the ethos of Kelly and Co.
“We are pleased to welcome them to the Josiah Hincks family and to be able to expand our offering to our clients.”
Tess Kelly said: “We are delighted to be joining the Josiah Hincks team, and really pleased by the benefits this will provide our clients, as there are areas of law that we have not been able to offer in the past, and which we can now assist with.
“We remain at our usual offices, and although with a new name above the door, you will find the same friendly team here to assist you. We look forward to welcoming you soon.”
Josiah Hincks also has offices in Leicester, Syston, Blaby, Coalville and Market Harborough.
