Joshua Kimmich addresses Bayern Munich future amid Man City and Barcelona transfer links

Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich says he has “big plans” at the club despite frequent transfer links with Barcelona and Manchester City.

The German international has been touted as a long-term heir to Sergio Busquets at the Camp Nou, as well as a leading target for treble winners City.

Pep Guardiola worked with the 28-year-old at the Allianz Arena and could be looking for a replacement for Ilkay Gundogan.

Despite lifting the Premier League, FA Cup and the Champions League, the 32-year-old is out of contract in a matter of weeks.

Arsenal, Barca and clubs in the lucrative Saudi Pro League are interested in the German, who could yet decide to extend his stay at the Etihad Stadium.

Mateo Kovacic is another target, while Barcelona have been linked with a move for Bruno Guimaraes of Newcastle United.

Speaking while away on international duty with the German camp, Kimmich told BILD: “It was difficult not to come across it [the rumours].

“Generally, I’m not too invested in the rumours.

"I still have, as everyone knows, two years left on my contract and we have big plans [for those two years] at Bayern."
