Consider it the professor and student or mentor and mentee but Bill Belichick and Josh McDaniels were coaching against each other Sunday in Las Vegas.

The early returns were in favor of the home team, the Raiders, as they jumped to a 17-3 lead.

Derek Carr threw a pair of touchdown passes, one to Darren Waller and the other to Mack Hollins.

The Raiders also blocked a punt, which had to roil Coach Belichick.
