Josh Jacobs found a powerful way to honor his ailing father during Chiefs-Raiders

Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs found a powerful way to honor his father during his team’s Saturday tilt with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Jacobs wrote the word “Pops” on his eye black, which commemorates his ailing dad. Jacobs’ six-year-old son Braxton found his grandfather Marty in pain and called 911 on Tuesday.

It turns out that the young Braxton Jacobs helped alert the first responders to get Marty Jacobs in for emergency heart surgery. Josh Jacobs spent some time in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with his family before returning to Vegas for Saturday’s season finale.

While Marty Jacobs couldn’t attend his son’s last game of the year, he said he was planning to watch it from his hospital bed.

Jacobs entered Saturday’s game as the NFL’s rushing leader, and his father’s health scare certainly gave him much more to play for as the Raiders season winds down.

Here’s to hoping Marty Jacobs’ recovery is swift, and that Josh Jacobs is able to be back with his family sooner than later.
