Josh Gordon is reviving his football career this spring by playing for the Seattle Sea Dragons in the XFL. On Saturday, Gordon showed he still has something left in the tank.
With Seattle trailing by two points on fourth-and-2 from its own 35-yard line with just over a minute left in the game, Gordon caught a 65-yard touchdown from quarterback Ben DiNucci to give his team the lead. Seattle went on to defeat the host Vegas Vipers, 30-26, improving to 1-2 on the season while dropping Vegas to 0-3.
DiNucci, who was mic’d up for the game, could only say “Are you f—ing serious?” as he ran downfield to celebrate with his wide receiver. DiNucci and Gordon seem to be developing some pretty good chemistry through three games.
Gordon had a huge night, recording six catches for 118 yards and two touchdowns in the game. He entered the game with a league-high 225 receiving yards through two weeks, one yard ahead of teammate Jahcour Pearson.
Last season, Gordon spent time on the Titans’ roster, but he didn’t record a catch despite being active for two games. If the wide receiver keeps playing to the level he has to start the XFL season, he may get another chance in the NFL this Fall.
