The NBA announced their All-Rookie teams on Wednesday and Oklahoma City Thunder guard Josh Giddey ended up on the All-Second team.
Giddey, who won four of the month Western Conference Rookie of the Month awards in October/November, December, January and February, failed to take one of the two guard spots on the All-First team due to missing 28 games that includes the entirety of post-All-Star break sans one game due to a hip injury.
The 19-year-old was taken sixth overall in the first round of the 2021 NBA draft. In 54 games, Giddey averaged 12.5 points, 7.8 rebounds and 6.4 assists on 41.9 percent shooting.
The two rookie teams include:
First-Team: Cade Cunningham – Jalen Green – Scottie Barnes – Franz Wagner – Evan Mobley
Second-Team: Josh Giddey – Herb Jones – Ayo Dosunmu – Chris Duarte – Bones Hyland
Scottie Barnes, Cade Cunningham and Evan Mobley were unanimously selected to the 2021-22 Kia NBA All-Rookie First Team.
