Clarke adds Doig and Gallagher to Scotland squad as duo drop out

STEVE CLARKE has called Josh Doig and Declan Gallagher up to the Scotland squad.

The national team boss added the Hellas Verona full-back and St Mirren defender to the group after a duo dropped out.

Nathan Patterson was forced to withdraw from the squad after being stretchered off against Ukraine on Wednesday night.

And David Turnbull returned to Celtic after an ankle knock failed to clear up in time to feature for the national team.

With the pair dropping out of the squad, Clarke moved to call-up Doig and Gallagher ahead of the matches against Ireland and Ukraine in the Nations League.

Gallagher will join up with the national tea, having impressed for St Mirren this season with Doig going straight from captaining the under-21s to a 3-1 win over Northern Ireland today  to join Clarke's squad.
