Josh Allen leaves Jalen Ramsey looking foolish after "stupid" comments

Jalen Ramsey was left looking foolish yet again by Josh Allen - as the quarterback he previously branded “trash” dominated his Los Angeles Rams defence.

Allen was drafted No.7 overall by the Buffalo Bills in the 2018 NFL Draft and Ramsey did not mince his words when discussing the selection at the time. He branded the decision “stupid” and criticised the quarterback.

"I think Allen is trash," Ramsey said to GQ at the time. "I don't care what nobody say. He's trash. And it's gonna show too. That's a stupid draft pick to me.”

But Allen has gone on to become a star performer in the NFL, resulting in the Buffalo Bills entering the new season as Super Bowl favourites. They underlined those credentials with a 31-10 win over Ramsey and the LA Rams in their first game since winning last year’s Super Bowl to kick-off the new season.

Allen threw for 297 yards and three touchdowns whilst also rushing for 56 yards and a further touchdown to leave Ramsey eating his words. Not only did Allen make Ramsey’s comments look foolish, the Rams cornerback experienced a torrid evening of his own.

According to Pro Football Focus, Ramsey was targeted seven times and gave up six completions for 124 yards and two touchdowns, including a 53-yard touchdown pass to Stefon Diggs after Allen found a deep pass beyond Ramsey.

Overall, it left the brash cornerback looking somewhat foolish as he found himself dominated by Allen several years after his harsh verdict.

Meanwhile, Allen hailed new addition Von Miller Miller and his teammates for their part in the victory. Speaking on NBC, after the game, he said: “First off, that first half, being careless with the football a little bit, putting our defense in bad situations but they gave us a chance.

“Going in with three turnovers at halftime and it being even, that was a huge boost for us. We knew if we came out and tried to execute the way we know we can execute, we were going to move the ball the ball and score. Our defense played a hell of a game.

“Defense's job is to get the ball back, but the offense can help and let them go and pin their ears back by getting up and putting them in legit passing situations and letting them go.

“We got a bunch of dawgs up front. He [Miller] is the leader of that D-line and they played outstanding tonight.”
