Josh Allen: Jaguars are ‘built to win’ in 2022 so losses hurt more

Josh Allen has lost a lot of games since joining the Jacksonville Jaguars as the No. 7 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. But the fourth-year pass rusher says the 28-22 loss to the Washington Commanders hurt more than usual because the Jaguars are capable of more.

“This team right now is built to win, so when we lose it hurts,” Allen told Mia O’Brien of 1010XL. “It don’t Urban [Meyer] hurt, but it hurt. But we know it was us, we beat ourselves. And obviously I think everybody is going to say that after a loss, but if you watch the film, we beat ourselves.

“…This is not how it’s going to be. Like I said, this team is built to win, and we’re going to win. Point blank period.”

Jaguars third-year running back James Robinson echoed that sentiment in the locker room.

The Jaguars finished last season 3-14 and spent big in the offseason to add several new faces to the starting lineup, including wide receiver Christian Kirk, right guard Brandon Scherff, and defensive lineman Folorunso Fatukasi, among others.
