The NFL’s 2023 All-Pro teams hit the internet on Friday and, of course, there are plenty of names on the list that you’d expect.
The Cowboys (9), 49ers (7) and Ravens (6) had the most players selected between the two All-Pro teams. There were also 14 first-time All-Pro players included in the selections this year. Lamar Jackson and Dak Prescott were the two quarterbacks at the top of the list.
Of course, though many of these picks are awesome, there were also still some really good players who were left off. There’s just not enough space for everyone.
Let’s take a look at who is missing here.
Brock Purdy
For a player who looked like he was just the front-runner for the NFL’s MVP award a couple of weeks ago, it sure is strange to see him left off the league’s All-Pro list. I guess that’s how thin the margin of error was this season.
Josh Allen
Nobody had to carry a team on their back quite like Josh Allen did with the Bills this season. His 18 interceptions look bad, but when you compare it to the 44 total touchdowns he contributed it doesn’t seem like much at all.
Derrick Henry
Derrick Henry probably won’t be back in Tennessee next season. His 12 rushing touchdowns this year are good for second in the NFL, tied with Kyren Williams and just a bit behind Christian McCaffrey who had 14.
Travis Kelce
Travis Kelce had the second most receiving yards for a tight end in the NFL this season with 984. He was also the very best receiver on the Chiefs this year.
Patrick Surtain
Pat Surtain is one of those guys who should probably be in consideration for an All-Pro team every year at this point. He’s that good at corner. If the Broncos were better, there’s no doubt he’d have made the team.
L'Jarius Sneed
L’Jarius Sneed had 90 targets this season as the closest defender to the ball. He didn’t allow a single touchdown on any of them. This dude is good. Really, really good.
Bobby Okereke
Bobby Okereke was one of the best linebackers in the NFL this season. If he wasn’t a New York Giant, he’d probably be on the team. There’s always next season, though.
