Joseph Parker issues prediction for Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua

Joshua Parker reckons Tyson Fury will KO Anthony Joshua if they lock horns in December as he possesses a 'bigger engine than any other fighter.'

AJ's career was left in tatters following his second consecutive loss to Oleksandr Usyk in Saudi Arabia last month. But the 32-year-old's been given a lifeline by Fury, 34, who called him out shortly after the bitter defeat.

The British heavyweights are now on the verge of agreeing terms for the blockbuster bout that's set to take place on December 3 after Fury's promoter Frank Warren revealed he's sent AJ's camp a 60/40 split offer in Fury's favour, which will get split evenly down the middle in a rematch if Joshua clinches victory.

However, a rematch won't be necessary as Fury will put a stop to the fight quite early on if Joshua comes out swinging. And a defensive strategy from AJ will result in the same outcome - albeit later on in the fight, Parker reckons.

Parker, 30, has been training with Fury in Morecambe as he prepares for his WBO interim title fight against Joe Joyce on Saturday night. And the Gypsy King's vigour-filled performances in training that put him above any other fighter have led Parker to make his bold claims.

But Parker, who lost to AJ in 2018 on points, also admitted that his opinion is biased as he shares a close relationship with Fury that blossomed after beating the Brit's cousin Hughie in 2017.

The New Zealand native told the Daily Mail: "Everyone knows what I think, which is that Tyson stops him. I never really understood how Tyson fought until I started training with him, and I saw that he would out-train any fighter at any weight class that I’ve ever trained with.

"He has the biggest engine of any fighter I’ve ever trained with. He just keeps going and going and going – he doesn’t stop.

"AJ’s a big puncher, so he’s always got that chance of connecting well with Tyson. I’m obviously biased because we’re close, but even if I say I’m putting on my boxing hat and pick Tyson, people will just link it back to me being close to him. But I do think that; I think he’ll stop him.

"If Joshua comes out firing, I think Tyson gets him out early, before round six. If Joshua goes on the defence, it will make it harder to get him out of there, but I do think Tyson will stop him.

"Like I said, the work-rate Tyson has, he’ll outwork anyone. When you think he’s tired, he’s not tired. When you think he’s done, he’s not done. He’ll just keep going."

But despite Parker's predictions, he revealed Fury's remaining tight-lipped on the finer details of the potential bout with AJ, other than he's keen for it to go ahead. When pressed further if Fury had revealed much about the fight talks, Parker added: "Not really.

"We do ask him questions, but he just says the teams are working on it and trying to make something happen. I don’t think he wants to say anything unless it’s locked in.

"He wants the fight to happen, but my fight with Joe Joyce took how long to make happen, so I can only imagine how long it will take for that fight to be locked in, with everything both teams want."

And although he's got his money on a Fury victory, Parker urged AJ to take the fight he's not guaranteed another shot at glory anytime soon. Parker continued: "If I was in that position, and I’ve just lost the title and I get offered another world title fight again, as a fighter you’d want every chance to be champion of the world again.

"If he’s willing to put in the work and he backs himself then he should take it. Who knows when the next chance would come."
