Fenerbahce will build a statue of Jose Mourinho if he leads them to Europa League glory, according to Turkish legend Nihat.
Rangers are in Istanbul for the first leg of the Round of 16 Europa League clash with Fenerbahce, ahead of next week's return in Glasgow.
Mourinho is the only manager to have won all three current European competitions and has won the Europa League twice before with both Porto and Manchester United.
Turkish clubs have only ever won one European competition in their long history - Galatasaray lifted the 2000 UEFA Cup after beating Arsenal - and Fenerbahce have never progressed beyond the semi-final of the Europa League, which they managed in 2013.
And former Real Sociedad and Villarreal winger Nihat - who won 69 caps for his country before going onto become Turkey assistant manager and is now a TV analyst - reckons Mourinho could bring history to the club and would be immortalised with a statue next to the former Brazilian star Alex, who is the only Fenerbahce player to have received that honour.
He said: "If Jose Mourinho wins the Europa League with Fenerbahce, they will build a statue of him next to Alex's.
"I think his genius is really starting to show through now.

"At the weekend, fans were asking why Fenerbahce didn't go on to score four or five goals against Antalyaspor which they could easily have done.
"But Mourinho basically ordered them to go easy because he knows the importance of the Rangers match coming up. He really believes they can win the tournament.
"Maybe the club better order that statue because he is heading for more European glory."
