Jose Mourinho stance revealed as Nottingham Forest and Newcastle linked with Roma transfer

Nottingham Forest are reportedly facing competition from Premier League sides to secure the signing of AS Roma star Nicolo Zaniolo.

The 23-year-old is being linked with a move to the City Ground after struggling to hit the same form he did last season for Jose Mourinho's side. Zaniolo is comfortable playing in different positions, having done so as an attacking midfielder, striker and right winger.

Despite his struggles, he is claimed to be attracting interest from Premier League sides Newcastle and West Ham. According to Italian outlet Voce Giallorossa, Roma are said to be "wondering about what they'll do with the player" amid interest.

It is claimed to be "no secret" that the Premier League trio are interested in his signing and the Italian side could "seriously consider" his sale if they receive an offer of around £18m-£22m.

However, Roma's priority would reportedly be to extend his contract which currently expires in 2024. That way, they would be looking to negotiate a transfer for a higher fee of around £31m-£35m.
