Jose Mourinho insists Brendan Rodgers doesn't get the credit he deserves for the work he did at Celtic and Liverpool.
The legendary Portuguese boss will welcome Rodgers' Leicester to Italy tomorrow for the second leg of Roma's Europa Conference League semi-final.
They drew 1-1 in England and the tie hangs in the balance as Mourinho looks for his first trophy as Roma boss.
He has always respected his counterpart Rodgers, who worked under him in Chelsea's academy during his first spell at Stamford Bridge.
The Northern Irishman has gone on to have a glittering career, reviving Liverpool and taking them to the brink of the Premier League title before leading Celtic to a double Treble in Scotland.
He's now at Premier League side Leicester, where he's won the FA Cup and qualified for the Champions League last season.
Mourinho insists he's not surprised at what Rodgers has achieved and reckons he's often overlooked.
He says that's partly due to a lack of "focus" on Scottish football - where Rodgers led Celtic to seven successive trophies before joining Leicester in 2019.
He said ahead of their Conference League second leg: “Brendan doesn’t surprise me. With Liverpool, people forget what he did with much, much less resources than Liverpool has now.
"He did amazing and then the Scottish history (with Celtic), people forget because people doesn’t focus much on Scottish Premier League.
"To win the FA Cup with Leicester and even the Community Shield, the stability in the club, the way they play, their recruitment, it is a perfect fit, Leicester and Brendan; very, very good.”
