Jose Mourinho has joked about potentially returning to the Premier League in two years’ time in order to manage a struggling team not in Europe.

Mourinho - who took charge of Fenerbahce in the summer - saw his side earn a 1-1 draw with Manchester United in the Europa League on Thursday night.

The Portuguese boss was sent off against his former club in the second half of the game in Istanbul. And Mourinho made it clear that he was not happy with the decision from referee Clement Turpin.

"The best thing I have to do is when I leave Fenerbahce, I go to a club that doesn’t play in Uefa competition," he said.

"So a club at the bottom in England who needs a coach in two years, I’m ready to go.

“I don’t want to speak any more about it. I want to speak about the game, we played absolutely fantastic against a team in theory from a superior level.

“If I appeal [the red card], I will get six months."
