LAFC have reportedly told Rangers how much they want for midfield target Jose Cifuentes.
The Ibrox side have been locked in talks over the 24-year-old and while reports Stateside suggested an agreement has been struck between the clubs, those claims are wide of the mark at this stage. There is work to be done yet as Michael Beale chases his top midfield target but the Scottish Sun say they have now learned how much they will have to pay to land him.
It's believed the MLS side want £1.2m for him and Beale is keen to front up the cash to get his man. Cifuentes has been a long-term target for Rangers and could have signed a pre-contract at Ibrox and moved for free in January. But LAFC would prefer to do a deal in this window than lose him for nothing at the end of the MLS campaign. Rangers have been working on other transfer targets but will now look to get Cifuentes over the line. Any deal would be subject to Cifuentes being granted a work permit.
