Jose Aldo takes gloves off for response to ‘big mouth’ Conor McGregor’s boxing proposal

Jose Aldo took a hostile stance when informed ofConor McGregor’s desire to rematch him in the boxing ring.

After former UFC champ and soon-to-be UFC Hall of Famer Aldo fought Jeremy Stephens to a majority draw in the featured bout of Saturday’s Gamebred Boxing 4 event in Milwaukee, Wis., McGregor tweeted that “me and Aldo should box” in the future.

Aldo, who suffered a 13-second knockout loss to McGregor in one of the biggest grudge matches in UFC history at UFC 194 in December 2015, isn’t buying what his longtime rival is selling.

He made that much clear at the Gamebred Boxing 4 post-fight news conference.

“Conor (has a) big mouth,” Aldo told reporters in response to McGregor’s tweet. “He always talks a lot of sh*t. He has a scheduled fight. … Conor, shut your f*cking mouth. We were supposed to fight before in the UFC. You run, and now you still talk sh*t.”

Aldo is now 1-0-1 in boxing competition after parting ways with the UFC in late 2022. He said he’s going to sit down with his management and discuss his next steps, but doesn’t seem to think the options of running it back with the Irishman is all that real.

McGregor, meanwhile, recently finished filming Season 31 of “The Ultimate Fighter” reality series opposite Michael Chandler ahead of an expected future matchup between them.
