Jorginho makes Chelsea transfer decision even easier as Kai Havertz attracts unwanted attention

Thomas Tuchel has been handed plenty of takeaways as Chelsea booked a place in the FA Cup final with a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace. Ruben Loftus-Cheek opened the tie just after the hour mark with a fantastic effort before Mason Mount doubled the west London side's lead moments later, scoring in three successive games for the first time in his career.

The Blues boss' decision to omit Romelu Lukaku from the starting XI paid off, with Kai Havertz, Timo Werner and Mount all flourishing. Patrick Vieira's side showed heart and spirit but Chelsea shifted through the gears to prevail.

Though, while the score suggests it was sunshine and rainbows for Tuchel's side at Wembley, the Blues were handed some rude-awakenings too. So we, Carefree Chelsea at football.london, have plucked out at the good, the bad and ugly moments from the bout.

Good: Loftus-Cheek answers Tuchel question

Ahead of the tie, Tuchel challenged Loftus-Cheek to extend his run of impressive displays to three games. And, in spectacular fashion, the 26-year-old fired his side ahead.

Irrespective of whether the Cobham graduate will be handed a prominent first-team role next season, Loftus-Cheek has taken Tuchel's advice on board and shown a great maturity to react. With Jorginho's and N'Golo Kante's form in mind, the Englishman's goal could be enough to secure a start against Arsenal in the week.

Bad: Jorginho takes one Tchouameni touches

Tuchel was far from happy with Jorginho's performance amid the Italy international's inability to offload and redistribute possession at a desirable tempo. The 30-year-old, who sees his contract at Stamford Bridge expire in June 2023, has cast further doubt regarding his future at Chelsea following his display.

According to widespread reports, the Blues have supposedly been interested in Declan Rice and Aurelien Tchouameni as Tuchel looks to bolster his midfield next season. With Conor Gallagher returning at the end of the season too, Jorginho didn't exactly give the new owners a reason to not splash the cash this summer.

Ugly: Are you Hav(ertz)ing a laugh?

Kai Havertz has been berated by pundits and fans alike for a dive in the first-half. The 22-year-old glided past former Blue Marc Guehi but, in anticipation of contact via an outstretched leg, he collapsed like a rag doll.

Referee Anthony Taylor, an infamous figure among Chelsea fans, showed Havertz a yellow card. Replays soon showed it was the correct decision, with the Germany international nowhere near making contact with the Palace centre-half.
