Jorginho insists Arsenal not worried by Erling Haaland form as Gunners target statement win over Man City

Jorginho insists Arsenal are not letting Erling Haaland’s remarkable start to the season get into their heads ahead of Sunday’s showdown at Etihad Stadium.

Haaland has been on fire during Manchester City’s perfect start to the season, scoring nine goals in his first four Premier League games.

City are top of the table and will welcome Arsenal to the Etihad this weekend, with the Gunners second and just two points off them.

The Gunners will have to find a way to keep Haaland out, but Jorginho says they cannot let the Norwegian’s form dominant their thoughts.

“Erling scoring again, it is starting to make us laugh! We look [at what he is doing] because we look at all the games and we love football,” said Jorginho.

“We love the Premier League so we watch all the games to be fair. We watch them as well, which is normal.

“Again it doesn’t get into our head. We need to focus on us and that is what we are trying to do.”

Arsenal beat Tottenham on Sunday to continue their brilliant away form since the turn of the year.

The Gunners have played 11 Premier League games in that time and they have won 10 and drawn one.

That solitary draw came at the Etihad last season back in March and Jorginho says they are going there for all three points on Sunday.

“If you want to achieve big things you need to have the mentality of trying to win every single game,” he said.

“That is what we need to do and that is what we want to do. That is what we are trying to do.

“You need to keep in this way. Keep believing in what you are doing. We are believing in what we are doing and we keep working hard to improve on what we need to improve and keep doing right the things we are doing right.

“I think we are on the right way and we need to keep it going.”
