Jorginho compares Mikel Arteta to former Chelsea manager and highlights key change at Arsenal

Arsenal midfielder Jorginho has compared current boss Mikel Arteta to former Chelsea and Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri regarding his attention to every detail. Jorginho played over 13,000 minutes of football under Sarri and enjoyed plenty of success under the Italian coach.

Jorginho completed a £12million transfer from Chelsea to Arsenal in January and has come in to help aid the Gunners' Premier League title challenge as they fight Manchester City at the top of the table. Arsenal hold a two-point lead over Pep Guardiola's side heading into this weekend's fixture against Leicester City.

The Italy international is enjoying life under Arteta at the Emirates Stadium and has already highlighted the positive atmosphere in the group, with the 31-year-old already building strong relationships and becoming a respected member in the dressing room.

Jorginho has predicted plenty of success in Arteta's future and highlighted how the Spaniard's attention to detail and changes made have helped the north Londoners turn into title contenders.

Speaking in an interview with BeIN Sports, Jorginho discussed the similarities between Arteta and Sarri. The Italian midfielder said: "He reminds me a little bit of [Maurizio] Sarri. I am used to working with a manager that looks into the details, for me, details make the difference in the end between a good team and a winning team.

"I am sure, 100%, that he [Arteta] worships [the details] so much. I've only been here [at Arsenal] a couple of days but I'm sure every day there is going to be something new and that's why I'm so excited as well because I can see that I have so much to learn here."

The changes Arteta makes to his tactics by analysing the finer details in each performance have helped improve his team to move top of the table and challenge with City this season.

This was highlighted at the start of the season with Thomas Partey becoming a lone holding midfielder, whilst the full-backs move into midfield in attacking moves to allow more cover and allow the likes of Granit Xhaka and Martin Odegaard to move forward with more freedom.
