Jorge Masvidal explains why he won't fight Jake Paul despite huge offer

Jorge Masvidal has completely dismissed a fight with Jake Paul despite his bumper offer because he plans to continue to work on his UFC career.

The welterweight star will face Colby Covington in March as he looks to revive his welterweight career after two successive defeats by champion Kamaru Usman.

Paul offered UFC president Dana White the opportunity to face Masvidal in the UFC in addition to a £5million offer to meet in the boxing ring.

However Masvidal has claimed no-one cares about a fight against Paul in the UFC and he is not willing to jeopardise his 20-year professional MMA career.

"I worked too hard on my career," Masvidal told the MMA Hour. "To like bring somebody over and yeah, I get it [Jake Paul's] like famous in some metaverse world but in my world, they don't give a f*** about it.

"You know how long I've been doing this sport? You can see all my fights online. I've really been doing this close to 20 years professionally now.Who the f*** is this Jake Paul guy bro? Out of my face man.

"It just shows the money talks, I'm here to make some real money and I have s*** to do man."

Masvidal and Paul used to be friends and have trained together in the past when the YouTube star was preparing to face Ben Askren.

However the friendship has now turned sour with Paul asking to fight Masvidal frequently as he continues to look for crossover bouts.

This seems highly unlikely with Paul even offering to White the opportunity to stage a fight against Masvidal in the UFC in exchange for his boxing retirement.

Paul begged for White to release Masvidal and Irish star Conor McGregor so he can face them later in his career.

This was followed by the significant £5m offer to face 'Gamebred' which the UFC star promptly refused.

Masvidal demanded a bumper $20 million payday for any crossover bout with Paul which the YouTube star swiftly laughed off on social media.

The UFC star also issued a scathing put-down to Paul's call out claiming that the 25-year-old will be unable to "afford" any bout with him in the future.

He posted on Instagram : "Now to address that little b****, what's his face, that f*****, listen man, you can't f****** afford me. You understand? Me and all the names that you mentioned, you can't afford.

"I know... what you pay. You talk a big game. You say 50 million dollars, you have 100 million dollars. Bull****! If that was the case, [Floyd] Mayweather would have took the fight with your b**** a** but he hasn't because you don't generate that type of revenue.

"I know it hurts. I'll tell you what? Come on over to the UFC, sign on one-fight deal, let Dana [White] give you whatever the f*** he's gotta pay you, I'll break your jaw in front of the whole world, man. I promise you that. If you really want it, come get it."
