Jorge Grant has completed his move to Hearts from Peterborough.
The attacking midfielder has penned a three-year deal with the Jambos. He becomes Robbie Neilson's fifth summer signing so far after they paid Posh an undisclosed fee to land the 27-year-old.
Grant was in Edinburgh for talks last week and a look around, and has now decided that his future lies at Tynecastle. Despite a £750,000 release fee in his contract, Peterborough director of football Barry Fry told Record Sport how the club were willing to waive that in order for the deal to be done. Posh chairman Fry tipped the versatile midfielder to make a telling in Gorgie once the deal was completed. Neilson has been busy this summer and Grant follows on from the arrival of Alex Cochrane at the weekend as they gear up for the Premiership kick-off.
Speaking to the Hearts website, Neilson said: “I’m really pleased to get Jorge in as we continue to build our squad for a historic season.
“He’s an experienced player who will bring dynamism and guile in the final third of the pitch and I’m really looking forward to working with him.
“The squad is starting to take shape but we’re not finished yet and I hope that in the weeks ahead we can continue to add quality to it.”
Sporting director Joe Savage added: “We’re all delighted to be able to get Jorge over the line and have him join us out in Spain.
“He’s a really talented player and one we identified a while back as someone who could add value to the team, so to get him in a maroon shirt is great.
“Once again, our Board of Directors have backed us to get it right and I give them my thanks, as well as Jorge’s agent James, who has really played a massive part in helping to get this deal done.
