Hearts have appealed Jorge Grant's sending off against Motherwell after Robbie Neilson blasted the "discrepancies" in VAR.
The midfielder saw red for a late challenge on Callum Slattery in the first half with the Tynecastle side going on to win a thrilling game 3-2. Despite the victory, Neilson spent a chunk of his post match press duties complaining about the decision, feeling it should have been subject to a VAR review by whistler Kevin Clancy.
It wasn't and Grant was shown red, but now the club have appealed it and hope to have it overturned in time to face Rangers on Wednesday. The appeal will be heard on Tuesday with Hearts and Grant set to learn the outcome one way or another before that clash. Speaking after the game Neilson said: "Kevin's explanation to me was that Jorge was high and out of control. Looking at it, I don't think he was high at all, I don't think he was reckless.
"But Kevin decided not to look at the monitor. It's his prerogative but I'm sure he'll look at it again and have a different opinion.
"I think it tells you that there's a lot of discrepancies in it. At St Johnstone last week, the referee gave a red card, VAR asked him to have a look at it and it got downgraded to a yellow.
"I'd have hoped that would have happened today but for some reason it didn't happen."
