Jordan White gutted his Ibrox effort wasn't enough to deny boyhood heroes Rangers

JORDAN WHITE grew up dreaming of pulling on a Rangers jersey and finding the net for his boyhood heroes.

But the striker was left gutted at Ibrox as his fine scoring record against the Light Blues counted for nothing in a narrow Premiership defeat.

White took his tally to an impressive five goals in seven games against Rangers as his second half header pulled Ross County level after a Malik Tillman opener.

Borna Barisic's deflected free-kick left Malky Mackay's side with nothing to show for their fine showing and White was frustrated his efforts and a front-foot approach wasn't rewarded with a share of the spoils.

White said: "We put a lot into the game. Tactically, we got a lot of things right. They’re a good team and you’ve got to ride your luck at times but overall we can be pleased with our performance.

"It (scoring against Rangers) is what it is. [My dad] supports me all the time. I’m just happy to get on the scoresheet again and disappointed not to take any points from the game.

"I don’t know what it is. It’s just that the ball keeps falling to me at the right times and I’m there to put it in.

"These games take care of themselves. Everybody is always up for them. You’re coming to a big stadium with a good support and you get that wee adrenaline rush. It’s one of these things. It happens.

"Absolutely [we had Rangers worried]. They didn’t like it at the end.

"We’ve come up short but we’ve got to take the positives, build on this and not just be happy to do that against Rangers. We’ve got to do that against all the other teams around us.

"I’ve come here before and teams have just sat in. You try different things against the Old Firm. It’s always going to be tough no matter what you play.

"If you can have that wee bit more threat going forward, you can make them do things that they don’t want to do. It worked against Rangers and we have just come up a wee bit short."
