An anti-missile system operates after Iran launched drones and missiles towards Israel, as seen from Ashkelon

Jordan has recently faced heightened tensions in the region after an Iranian missile attack on Israel resulted in missile fragments falling in various parts of the country, including the capital Amman. The Ministry of Interior confirmed the incident and stated that Jordan will not allow itself to become a battleground for any external conflicts.

Minister of Government Communication, Mohammad al-Momani, emphasized Jordan's commitment to protecting its people and stated that safeguarding the country is their top priority. As a result of the missile attack, three individuals sustained minor injuries, and there was material damage reported in different locations.

State media coverage showcased the aftermath of the attack, with reports of missile fragments landing in areas such as Balqa governorate northwest of Amman. In response to the situation, the Jordanian military issued a shelter order, urging citizens to remain indoors while ensuring that all military forces are on high alert.

The Jordanian Air Force successfully intercepted Iranian missiles during the recent attack, demonstrating the country's readiness to defend itself against external threats. This interception follows a previous incident on April 13, where Jordan, along with other Arab nations, intercepted Iranian drones and missiles targeting Israel.

Jordan's proactive measures, including enhancing border security and supporting front-line units, reflect the government's commitment to maintaining stability and protecting its citizens amidst escalating tensions in the Middle East.
