Jordan Love practices again, Carrington Valentine returns, Jordan Morgan still out

Three notable things to know on the injury front from the Green Bay Packers’ first practice of Week 4: Quarterback Jordan Love was once again practicing, cornerback Carrington Valentine returned from an injury and rookie offensive lineman Jordan Morgan remains out, per Mike Spofford of the team’s official site.

The Packers will release the first injury report of the week on Wednesday before facing the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.

Last week, Love practiced in a limited capacity all three days but was inactive. While another week of limited practices seems likely, it’s also increasingly possible this will be the week he returns from a sprained MCL in his left knee. Malik Willis has started each of the last two games, leading the Packers to back-to-back wins. Love injured his knee on Sept. 6, now almost three weeks ago.

Valentine, who out-snapped Eric Stokes at cornerback in Week 2, missed last week’s win in Tennessee with an ankle injury. He was back on the practice field Wednesday, suggesting a minor injury and a real chance for playing Sunday against the Vikings. Valentine and Stokes have been rotating at perimeter cornerback opposite Jaire Alexander. Last week, Stokes gave up a touchdown pass to DeAndre Hopkins but generally played well across 53 snaps.

Speaking of rotations, expect Sean Rhyan to be a one-man show at right guard again on Sunday. Morgan, the team’s first-round draft pick, was the only player not participating at Wednesday’s practice. He’s dealing with a shoulder injury. The Packers haven’t placed Morgan on injured reserve but it’s looking more and more likely that he’ll miss multiple games. Prior to his injury, Morgan and Rhyan were nearing a 50/50 split of reps at right guard.

Finally, tight end Tucker Kraft wore a red “no contact” uniform during Wednesday’s practice. He wore the same thing last week while recovering from a shoulder injury. Kraft briefly left Sunday’s win over the Titans with another shoulder injury, so the Packers will attempt to limit his contact during the week.

Coach Matt LaFleur will speak to the media coming out of Wednesday’s practice.
