We’ve seen this before from St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Jordan Hicks.
He’s thrown pitches 105 MPH before, and then he’s tossed some triple-digit pitches with absurd movement, like a 102 MPH scorcher that tailed away from a hitter.
That last one came in spring training, and so did one this past weekend.
Hicks reared back in a game against the Mets and threw a strike clocked at 105 MPH. It looked so casual! Someone should tell him it’s the preseason, but I guess he wouldn’t listen.
Fans, rightfully, were in awe:

Jordan Hicks is throwing absolute fire this spring 🔥
He is averaging 100.5 mph on his sinker, easily the highest amongst pitchers with at least 20 tracked sinkers thrown https://t.co/tImDwtM9Fv pic.twitter.com/LQRT6lkiAh
