Jordan Henderson offered a gesture of support to Raheem Sterling after the winger was the victim of a burglary.
Sterling was absent from England's win over Senegal in the last 16 of the World Cup, with it later emerging he was flying home to be with his family. Robbers are understood to have broken into his house on Saturday evening, while his fiancee and children were at home.
His England team-mates have rallied around him, with the likelihood he will return for the rest of the tournament uncertain. Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate sent Sterling a message of support in his pre-match interview with ITV.
And Henderson also stepped up to send a more subtle message the 27-year-old after the horrific incident. The midfielder started the win over Senegal and joined his team-mates to celebrate in the stands with his family following the victory.
As he did so, he was spotted wearing Sterling's No10 shorts while he was up in the stands at the Al Bayt Stadium. Henderson's shirt number is 8, but he appeared to switch into Sterling's shorts following the game.
The Liverpool star also sent a message of support to the Chelsea man during his post-match media duties. He admitted losing Sterling was a blow, but insisted that Sterling's wellbeing was all that mattered.

"It's a blow but I hope everything is OK with Raheem's family at home. I hope he goes back and can sort everything out. I'm not sure if he can come back, I suppose he will have to assess when he's there but all our thoughts and support are with him," he said.
He added to BBC Radio 5 Live: "It was about the team tonight, a really good performance from everyone. We scored some good goals, we defended well, we kept a clean sheet, which was important.
"I thought it was a real team performance so a good night in the end. It's always nice to get on the scoresheet, it was a good time in the game which is good for us. To contribute, I'm pleased.
"But the most important thing for us is the win and the performance. I try to give everything for the team and I thought our desire and hunger without the ball was really good tonight. In the end you get the rewards for it."
Sterling has flown back to the UK to be with his family, with The Sun reporting £300,000 worth of watches were stolen. Three Lions boss Southgate admitted after the Senegal win that he was unsure if Sterling would be able to return to the squad.
“He is dealing with a family matter. I had quite a bit of time with him this morning but I have had to pass that on to other people to help him with that. He will go and deal with that matter and we will have to take it from there,” he said.
