Jordan Henderson makes Liverpool FC title admission after Tottenham draw gives Man City boost

Jordan Henderson admits Liverpool's dressing room are disappointed after dropping points in the Premier League title race and handing Manchester City a big advantage this weekend.

Liverpool had the chance to go two points ahead of City on Saturday against Tottenham, but they could only draw and move level with City in the table, leading on goal difference by a single goal. If City beat Newcastle on Sunday, they will open up a three point lead with just three games remaining.

Jurgen Klopp has already admitted he doesn't expect City to drop points in their final four games, while captain Henderson offered an equally-bleak outlook from a Liverpool perspective.

Admitting the title has slipped further from Liverpool, Henderson reiterated that they must only focus on themselves and try to 'win more than we don't'.

Speaking to Stadium Astro, he said: "Overall, I thought the performance level was really good again. The energy levels were good, the counter press was really good and the reaction when we lost the ball. We would have probably wanted to create a few more chances, but we still created a couple as well: Virgil hit the bar and we had a couple of others we could have scored from.

"The performance level was good, but we will be disappointed with the result. I thought the performance level was good and we just have to keep going and performing. If we do that, we will win more than we don't."

Liverpool face Steven Gerrard's Aston Villa this week, while City travel to Wolves, and Henderson said he hopes they can return to winning ways and keep the pressure on City.

"We've got to go again on Tuesday, in another tough game," he said. "If the performance level is high, hopefully we can get the three points."
