James Milner gives perfect three-word verdict on brutal Jordan Henderson training session

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has left Reds supporters in awe after uploading a second series of pictures from his summer training camp.

Jurgen Klopp's side are set to begin their pre-season training at the AXA Centre on Saturday, July 8. Meanwhile, Henderson and the other internationals in Liverpool's squad will return to club training at a later date.

That hasn't stopped the 33-year-old from putting in the work over the summer months with what appears to be a brutal off-season program. On Thursday evening, the Liverpool skipper posted to social media for the second time in a matter of days with images showing Henderson looking more bulked up than ever as he carried out boxing session with his private fitness instructors.

The pictures of the Reds' skipper working out were accompanied by an additional image which revealed a whiteboard at Henderson's training base featuring a famous quote from legendary boxer Muhammad Ali, reading: "I hated every minute of training, but I said: 'Don't quit, suffer now and live the rest of your life a champion'."

Henderson's second social media post of the week comes just days after he was linked with a stunning summer transfer to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq, who appointed former Reds captain Steven Gerrard as their manager on Monday.

Henderson, who has two years remaining on his current deal at Anfield, is expected to undertake a more reduced role at Anfield this term after the signings of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai this summer.

In the aftermath of Henderson's summer posts, fans have been quick to praise the Liverpool skipper as he gears up for an important campaign on Merseyside. On Thursday, one fan commented: "Hendo's not messing about. Great to see from the skipper. YNWA"

Meanwhile, former Liverpool team-mate James Milner, who joined Brighton on a free transfer this summer, replied: "Go on Rocky".
