Northern Ireland football star Jonny Evans has been honoured in King Charles III’s first official birthday honours list with an MBE.
More than 1,000 recipients have been awarded honours for their outstanding contributions across all sectors and parts of the UK.
It caps a special day for the Leicester City defender who captained his country in Copenhagen for the European Qualifier against Denmark. Unfortunately Michael O'Neill's men slipped to a 1-0 defeat.

Evans, 35, was making his 101st appearance for Northern Ireland at senior level, is recognised for services to football.
The MBE, meaning Member of the Order of the British Empire, is awarded for an outstanding achievement or service to the community. It is said 'this will have had a long-term, significant impact and stand out as an example to others.'
Evans said it was “amazing” when he was informed and was described as 'full of pride'.
