Jonnie Irwin supported by fans after sharing 'grateful' update

Jonnie Irwin has received rafts of well wishes after sharing a "grateful" update on Thursday.

The A Place in the Sun host, 49, revealed in November 2022 that he had been diagnosed with terminal cancer two years previously and was given six months to live. The Channel 4 star decided it was time to share his diagnosis in order to encourage others to "make the most of every day".

On Thursday he shared with his many followers that he is "super grateful" as he posted a number of photos on Instagram.

The snaps showed Jonnie, wife Jess, and their children Rex, four, and twins Rafa and Cormac, two, enjoying the sunshine in their garden. One photo featured Jonnie enjoying a piece of cake and a cuppa, while another showed the entire family around the table.

Jonnie said: "Super grateful to @time_out_space for my Fathers Day present. Weather permitting we’re using this dining set for all of our meals and can at last have a proper grownup garden party! #outdoors #alfresco #gift"

Fans have wished Jonnie and the family well in the comments section. Jean said: "Beautiful addition to your garden Jonnie and lovely to see you and your family enjoying the summer".

Diane said: "Enjoy Jonnie. You deserve all these special moments. Sending love and best wishes", and Jackie said: "So wonderful to see you enjoying yourself. God bless you".
