Jonnie Irwin shared an update with his followers on his health battle.
The former A Place In The Sun presenter took to Instagram to reveal he was undergoing Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. A hyperbaric chamber is a highly-pressurized room or tube where a patient is given pure oxygen to breathe.
The 49-year-old announced last year that he has lung cancer which spread to his brain, with the diagnosis classed as terminal.

Sharing two snaps of his journey on Instagram, the first saw Jonnie walking through a hallway with the caption, "And at the end of this walk..." followed by another of the tank, adding, "is this…hyperbaric oxygen therapy.'"
The South Shore Surgical website claims the treatment can help make cancer cells easier to kill along with reducing pressure, swelling or pain in the cancer site.
By flooding the system with concentrated oxygen in the bloodstream, hyperbaric oxygen can help make cancer cells easier to kill with treatments like chemotherapy and radiation while also activating the healing process in the body.
Additional benefits of hyperbaric oxygen therapy for cancer treatment include triggering the growth of new blood vessels, which increases the flow of blood and nutrients to the tissue and boosts the performance of white blood cells to prevent infection and kill bacteria.
