Jonnie Irwin shares adorable update with lookalike son

Jonnie Irwin has shared an adorable Instagram update featuring two snaps of his son posing in a Morocco kit.

It comes after the nation knocked Spain out of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar on Tuesday evening. After a 0-0 draw, Morocco beat Spain on penalties, despite the European nation being favourites to win the match.

Dad-of-three Jonnie posted two photos of his son, Rex, posing in the Morocco kit. He said: "Glad I bought this in Marrakesh last week. Rex has gone mad. #worldcup #morocco".

Fans were quick to comment on the snaps, with many noticing the likeness between Rex and his daddy. Lauren said: "Oh he is so cute, looks just like daddy too", while Andi said: "Mini daddy, what a cutie".

Former A Place in the Sun star Danni Menzies simply posted a heart-eyes emoji, while Homes Under the Hammer presenter Lucy Alexander said: "Legend".

Jonnie, who is known for presenting shows such as Channel 4 ’s A Place in the Sun and the BBC’s Escape To The Country, was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer. He shared the devastating news publicly last month.

Jonnie said he had chosen to keep his illness private until then, but hopes sharing his diagnosis will encourage others to "make the most of every day". The 49-year-old said the first warning sign of his illness came while he was filming A Place In The Sun in August 2020 in Italy, when his vision became blurry while driving.
