Jonnie Irwin has been inundated with support from fans after sharing a 'crazed and panicked' moment he experienced in Newcastle.
The A Place in the Sun presenter, 49, has been vocal about his terminal lung cancer diagnosis in the hope of raising awareness about the disease, after doctors gave him just months to live when he was diagnosed with the devastating illness back in August 2020. Jonnie and his Geordie wife Jessica own a house in Newcastle, and the star has been undergoing treatment in the city.
In a new Instagram post, Jonnie shared an update with followers as he recalled almost missing his train when leaving Newcastle. He wrote alongside a selfie: "Must've looked a right state - crazed and panicked chemo boy dragging a wheeled case with a strange transparent shoulder bag falling down his arm and a hot crossed bun hanging from the side of his mouth attempting to run for the departing train.

"Thankfully the kind guardsman held the door at the far end. My penance was that my seat was at the opposite end so I had to walk past all the passengers who had viewed this spectacle. #walkofshame #relief," he added.
Fans were quick to flood the comments section with supportive messages for Jonnie. One person wrote: "Everyone's right there with ya mate. You've so many people rooting for you everyday Jonnie."
Another said: "You are simply amazing! That is no walk of shame, that’s a walk of a sheer strength and determination. Stay strong Jonnie, enjoy those buns... Happy Easter."
"There is no such thing as a walk of shame," a third fan commented. "You are an amazing guy going through a tougher time than any potential critic could even imagine. Please don't also take on the burden of considering what others might be thinking about you."
Someone else penned: "I would have given you standing ovation. You're inspirational. No giving up in you, Jonnie Irwin."
Jonnie recently celebrated his 50th birthday eight months early to mark the milestone at a party with 170 of his friends and family members. He said of the special event: "I didn’t know the extent of the loyalty and generosity that my friends would exhibit. I've been dumbfounded and spellbound by their support, as well as that of our families, who have been amazing."
