Fans of Escape to the Country’s Jonnie Irwin branded him ‘amazing’ after his latest updated. The popular 49-year-old TV presenter is battling terminal cancer and recently revealed he’d spent some time in a hospice to help him cope with the pain.
The dad-of-three is suffering from cancer which has spread from his lungs to his brain. Now in a new post which shows that Jonnie, originally from Leicestershire, is still highly active, he revealed that he was exhausted after a jet washing frenzy.
He said: “I went on a jet washing marathon earlier and got stuck in the washing the inside of my wheelie bins. I’m now sat stink and my back is killing me so I thought I’ll have a bath and watch the cricket with your volume down and test match. I’ve made a promise to all stay in the bath. How long is England remain in bat Sound on sky tuned down and @tms turned up. The water had now gone rather cold but I’ll be good for my word. ##binjuice #ashes”
Alas he was to be disappointed in the cricket result - but he was able to enjoy his bath in his home which he has been renovating in the North East for his family to live in. His wife Jessica from the area and Jonnie is keen for her to be near her family.
His instagram followers were pleased that Jonnie had given such an upbeat update. Ian Stead said: “You’re doing amazing mate and I know from personal experience. Keep strong and positive.”
