Jonnie Irwin dresses up as superhero with three sons in heart-warming video

Jonnie Irwin shared a sweet update on social media this week as he and his three young children dressed up as superheroes while relaxing at home.

He showed off an outfit of his own, while Rex, four, and twins Rafa and Cormac, two, dressed up as their favourite characters and personalities in Cat Boy, Chase from Paw Patrol and the Incredible Hulk.

In a post uploaded to Instagram, Jonnie can be seen sporting a mask, while his three youngsters erupt into the room showing off their slickest superhero poses and moves. Jonnie asks Rex: "Who are you?" to which he replies: "Cat Boy" while jumping around and performing a cartwheel.

Then storm in twins Rafa and Cormac with Jonnie further exclaiming: "Wow, you are scary canary!"

Captioning the post, Jonnie wrote: "3 superheros [sic] under one roof. Im [sic] not sure I’ll make the grade!" and his comments section was quickly flooded with beautiful words from friends and followers alike. Jasmine Harman wrote: "Omg this is hilarious Jonnie. love them! I’ll lend you my Owlette mask next time."

Amanda Lamb, added: "You’ve so made the grade and then some… I also love how you have coordinated the scarf with the mask…. Ever stylish xx," while @dawnied_69, went on: "You are the biggest hero."

Victoria Fenton, penned: "That’s fabulous! I’m afraid The Tiny Hulk gets my vote! What a delightful trio," while Tim Holt, continued: "Super dad!"

It comes after just last year, Jonnie revealed he had been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer - after the disease had sadly spread to his brain. He initially received his diagnosis in August 2020, after suffering blurry vision while shooting for A Place in the Sun on Channel 4.

Speaking on his diagnosis back in November, Jonnie said that he hadn't informed his little ones on his condition - instead focused on making the most of the time he has with his family, who live in Newcastle. In an interview with GMB in November, he said: "It's only been recently that I've considered when we're going to tell them because the twins are only two-and-a-half years old, Rex is four at Christmas.

"So they're so young, but at the moment I'm me, in a version, and I don't think there's any need to tell them."

He continued: "And I think it would be a lot for them to get their heads round - so for now, let the good times roll for as long as possible."
