Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor isn’t eligible to return from the PUP list until Week 5 at the earliest, but he gave us the first clear update on his status since undergoing surgery in January.
Since Taylor was held out of training camp and the preseason, we have yet to see the star running back move around. That ended Friday as Taylor posted a video of him running routes at the team’s indoor practice facility to his Instagram story.

This is the first we’ve seen of Taylor in terms of doing anything athletic since his arthroscopic debridement all the way back in January.
There was a report released just before the Week 1 opener that Taylor could pass a physical right now, and that he’s expected to be ready when he’s eligible to return in Week 5.
The rushing attack for the Colts is certainly in flux after a rough performance in Week 1. Whether the Colts and Taylor can resolve his contract dispute is an entirely different conversation, but he seems to be moving pretty well.
For now, the Colts will move forward with Zack Moss, Deon Jackson and Jake Funk while they keep monitoring the free-agent market.
